OKAY, SO. Project Getting To Know You is hereby commenced!

First, something I've been meaning to do again! I've talked about this before, but I really like being able to call people by a name. I know some people don't like using their birth name on LJ, but you know... just whatever you want me to address you as! As anyone who I'm friends with will tell you, my preferred method of greeting is to just shout someone's name at them. You've probably seen me do it in comments before!

Second, tell me something about yourself that you don't think I know! I will go, too. I love math. A LOT. Algebra was my favorite class in high school, and I used to think I wanted to be a HS Math teacher. I DON'T KNOW WHAT I WAS SMOKING. AHAHAHA. Um, but really, I love it. I love the thrill of solving a complex algebra problem. I love graphing equations. I love matrices the most! I LOVE THAT I STILL REMEMBER PLEASE EXCUSE MY DEAR AUNT SALLY! (The Order of Operations: Parenthesis, Exponents, Multiply, Divide, Add, Subtract)

1. I want to say something epic here because I feel very epic about our friendship and I'm pretty sure you don't even realize I feel that way! And like, my friendship with you I did NOT see coming. I mean, I sought you out and I wanted to be friends with you, but I didn't realize we would get along SO DAMN WELL. It's like, sometimes, I'm pretty sure you read my mind. And you're so talented and awesome and smart and I sort of have a crush on you but not in a romantic way, but in that way where you get crushes on your friends because you just LIKE THEM SO MUCH AND YOU REALLY HOPE THEY LIKE YOU THAT MUCH BACK. Okay, I'm done. (OMG ILU!)

2. I like that you and I see the world differently sometimes, but there is still NO SHORTAGE OF RIGHT IN REAL LIFE AND THE INTERNET when it comes to you. I'm so glad you're in my life and I hope one day you figure out how amazing you are as a person because I see it everyday in everything you do.

3. Oh god, I don't even know what to say about you! I'm fairly certain you know exactly how I feel about you and that I wouldn't trade our friendship for ANYTHING. I love that we can say anything to each other, dole out any amount of praise, criticism, mocking, adoration... and it doesn't even matter. We RUIN EACH OTHER'S LIVES (AHAHAHAHA) and we're still friends. I don't even know how we happened to each other sometimes, but if it goes down as one of the great mysteries of my life, it'll still be worth it.

4. You're another friendship that I sort of stumbled into. I feel like I do that a lot lately, suddenly find myself friends with someone that I wish I'd known all along. Anyway, you're hilarious, talented, charming... IDK. You're one of those friends that I could see myself falling in love with SO EASILY if things shifted just a little bit (like, ya know, we lived anywhere near each other?) but as it is, I'm just happy to have you as a friend.

5. OH YOUUUUUUU. Never-ending hilarity. I swear to god I never laughed so hard before we became friends. Also, I like your brains. OM NOM NOM. Of course, you're in love with my nemesis, so that puts a damper on things... OR DOES IT? MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA! <---that is my evil laugh.

6. You are probably one of the most upbeat, positive, lovely people I have ever met on the internet. If I didn't know for a fact you can hate on idiots just as well as the next person, I wouldn't believe you'd ever said a mean word in your LIFE. I really adore you.

7. You are probably the person I am MOST JEALOUS OF w/r/t writing because I feel like you're such a BABY (though you're really not) and yet your understanding of story structure and flow and characterization is so impressive. Also, it doesn't hurt that you are ridiculously adorable and fun to talk to and just an all around wonderful person. I'm super excited we've started to talk more lately because I think you are going to be beyond AMAZING given just a few more years. And I know that sounds INCREDIBLY PATRONIZING but it's not meant to be. The best people don't peak until much later in life, if you ask me.

8. I wish I were HALF as cool as you and as badass and just all around AWESOME WITH A SIDE OF ASSKICKING BRILLIANCE. Siiiiigh. Sometimes, I wonder how I ever got cool enough to be friends with you (I'm still waiting for you to call a recount)! And you're multitalented, too. Like, you do EVERYTHING and you're GOOD AT IT. I don't know any reasonable person who doesn't love you instantly.

9. We're not as close as we used to be, but there are moments when I talk to you now or just randomly think of you and it's like a light turns on and I remember everything I love about you. I don't know that we'll ever go back to what we were, but I'm pretty sure we will always count each other as friends in one respect or another. Whatever, you couldn't get rid of me if you TRIED. ♥

10. I like you a lot. Yes, you. Yeah, really, you. You're awesome. You make my day whenever you comment and you make me laugh and light up. You inspire me and you make me glad that I call myself a fangirl, that I've stuck it out through all of the crazy that fandom brings. You, my dear, make me happy. THANK YOU.

Things: Worked 7AM-1PM. (I don't remember the last time I got up that early.) I have a list the size of my arm of fic to rec. Also, I forgot to send out emails yesterday for km_anthology. I NEED TO DO THAT OMG. !!! [ETA: DONE AND DONE. I AM DOING A DANCE OF AWESOME IN CELEBRATION!]

Also, OMG, everyone has said such nice things to me on the love meme. I FEEL ALL HAPPY AND WARM ON THE INSIDE. UM. ALSO. A lot of people have been like "I wish I knew you better!" or "I wish we talked more!" and want them to know that I FEEL THE SAME. Seriously, just the other day before that meme happened, I was thinking, "Man, there are so many people on my flist and I wish I knew them all better!" Because it feels like every week I'm "discovering" someone new that's already on my flist. Like... they'll comment on one of my entries and we'll have some awesome conversation and I'm like "OMG I REALLY LIKE THIS PERSON. WHY HAVEN'T WE TALKED MORE BEFORE??"

I've done GETTING TO KNOW MY FLIST activities in the past, but I think I"m going to have to resurrect that since I've gotten so many more new people since the last time I did that. BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR THAT SOONISH.

In the mean time, canis_takahari requested Karl @ Comicon 2005, and so here it be. I feel insane for doing two picspams in two days, but I promised Helen! I think I will have to limit myself to one a week or something. I MIGHT RUN OUT OF THINGS TO SPAM. D:
